Bengaluru law student stabbed to death for rejecting married man's proposal
According to police, Amrutha of Kodihalli was on her way home when Surya stabbed her in the busy road near HAL 3rd stage.

Amrutha, died during treatment, two days after being stabbed in the middle of
the road by the brother of a man who had proposed to her.
According to police,
Amrutha of Kodihalli was on her way home when Surya stabbed her in the busy
road near Hindustan Aeronautics Limited 3rd stage on Monday.
People chased Surya
and beat him up before handing him to the police.
Police arrested Surya
and his brother Dhanush, who lived in the same area as Amrutha.
Allegedly, Dhanush wasmarried with a child. But pestered her to marry him. When Amrutha knew about
this, she rejected the marriage, which enraged Surya.
Meanwhile, in a
separate incident, on Wednesday, Bengaluru Police arrested a sub-inspector, PSI
Byrappa, on charges of domestic violence and dowry harassment. The officer
allegedly abused his wife.
When the woman's father questioned him about his treatment of his daughter,Byrappa pulled out a machete and threatened him, police said.
Based on the complaint, Kengeri police registered a case and arrested him, later
producing him before a court. Police said further investigation is underway.
